A Kenyan court on Monday cleared the way for Nairobi and Kinshasa to pursue diplomatic talks over work permits for Congolese doctors, after both sides indicated a preference for an out-of-court settlement.

Lawyers for the Kenyan government and counsel representing the doctors told the court that high-level discussions had been initiated between the two governments on the future employment of Congolese medics in Kenya.
