Medical practitioners from the Democratic Republic of Congo have moved to the Kenyan High Court seeking to overturn a decision by Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale blocking the renewal of their practising licences and work permits.

The doctors argue that, as DR Congo is a member of the East African Community (EAC), they are entitled to the bloc’s benefits, including the right to offer professional services in member states.
