Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has begun another five-year term amid fighting in Tigray and growing tensions with neighbours over his government’s push for access to the Red Sea.
Dr Abiy was sworn in on Monday after being appointed by Ethiopia’s newly constituted House of Peoples’ Representatives, formally beginning his second term as prime minister under the current parliamentary system.
