Fighters in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are targeting villages with aerial bombs, endangering civilian lives and violating the ceasefire terms envisaged in the various peace agreements between DRC, Rwanda and the rebel AFC/M23.
And on Friday, the African Union (AU) condemned the use of unmanned aerial vehicles to bomb civilian settlements.

Chairperson of the African Union Commission Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said that the recent Kisangani airport attack by the M23 gravely endangered civilian populations and constituted a “serious violation of international humanitarian law, in particular the principles of distinction, proportionality and precaution.”
