The United States has revived its commitments to Africa’s Lobito Corridor with a wave of major funding announcements, shifting its focus beyond railways to critical power infrastructure.
On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) High-Level Week, the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) signed an agreement with Anzana Electric Group Ltd for a feasibility study to expand hydropower generation and upgrade electricity distribution networks across the Lualaba Province, a mineral-rich region in southeastern Democratic Republic of Congo and the North-Western Province of Zambia.
