Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi on Thursday received a delegation from the African Union (AU) panel of facilitators in Kinshasa, as diplomatic efforts intensify to secure peace across the Great Lakes region.
The AU, working in parallel with US-led initiatives, has appointed mediators to push for a ceasefire and sustain pressure on parties to the conflict. Discussions in Kinshasa focused on mediation efforts aimed at ending violence, particularly in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
