Movies also help me in keeping abreast with what is going on in the fashion world. I concentrate on the latest styles and update my wardrobe.

Does the way you dress impact on your work?

Yes. People know me as Mr checked aka Karokar and it’s a brand by itself.

Where do you buy your clothes?

Anywhere. I have people who give me clothes; but I also buy my clothes from any shop, as long I see something I like and it matches my style.

What is fashion in your own words?

Fashion describes who you are, from your hair style to dressing. If you see me you know who I am by way of my dressing.

Do you follow trends?

Yes, I do follow trend. I always want to improve on my style and move with the trend. It sells me better to my audience.

What is your opinion on how Rwandans dress?

Very good, from the culture style to the modern style they wear. I love it.

Do you buy designer clothes? Which designers are your favourites?

I don’t really buy designer clothes. I think it is just in me. I just follow my own touch of style.

What is the most expensive item you have in your wardrobe? And how much did you buy it?

It’s a coat I bought at $150. I love it.

Who are the local designers that you would like to wear their creations? Why?

Patrick Muhire. I like his style and his designs are unique.
