Recently, Al Jazeera featured a documentary on African migrants risking life and limb to escape to Europe.
The migrants travel on foot in searing heat across the endless Sahara Desert. They have little provision and only a vague sense of direction. Some get lost in the vistas of sand. Some run out of water. Others succumb to exhaustion or illness. They all end up as skeletons in the sand.
