Member States of the African and European blocs have agreed to join forces to curb illegal migration, a phenomenon that records a high number of Africans looking to Europe as the land flowing with milk and honey.

Data from the Africa Centre for Strategic Studies suggests that there is a sharp decline in African irregular migration to Europe. This, according to the centre, reflects stepped up European Union-funded efforts in North Africa (Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, and Egypt) and West Africa (Senegal and Mauritania).
