Sudan’s new parallel government formed by groups allied to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) may never attain international recognition granted to the rivals in the military.

But it manifests a long-held ambition by the group that had been building a rival government structure for months, even though they had denied such a plan in public.
