Death by starvation, diseases in Sudan as the world watches

Sudan’s war has spiraled into famine and disease, with millions trapped between hunger, cholera, and a collapsing state.

Sudan’s two-year-old war has forced millions out of their homes and killed thousands. But, now the biggest cause of death could be in the lack of food, rather than bombs and bullets on the battlefront.

In El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, for instance, a battle has raged for the past one and a half years, causing a monumental humanitarian crisis which keeps worsening by the day, with experts warning of imminent famine.
