In two months’ time, Rwanda could have two deals from the Donald Trump administration: A peace accord with its nemesis Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), accompanied by bilateral mineral deals that would bring billions of dollars of investment, and a multimillion-dollar migrant deal like the one it had with the United Kingdom (UK), which fell through when Keir Starmer ascended to 10 Downing Street mid last year.
President Trump’s Senior Adviser for Africa Massad Boulos said in Qatar this week that a comprehensive deal was in the cards.
