Africans lose temporary legal status in new US Supreme Court ruling

The US Supreme Court has ruled that the Trump administration has a constitutional right to end the Temporary Protection Status (TPS) setting a precedent from the case Mullin v Doe in 2005. 

Congress created the TPS in 1990 to provide short-term humanitarian relief for aliens who cannot safely return to their home countries. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) designates the foreign countries that qualify for TPS.
