Sebastian Groth is the type of diplomat who hosts food, drinks and music-filled evening parties and mini cultural events at his official residence, where he is one of the musicians entertaining guests. You are also likely to catch him playing over the weekend at an eatery around town.
The wry-humoured German ambassador to Kenya has created a name in the local jazz scene for his craftmanship on the keys as a member of the Muthaiga Three jazz trio, with bassist Matthew 'Danger' Shitaka and drummer Philip Odupah. They often play with guitarist Eddie Grey.
