How Kiir, Machar ego trips are sinking South Sudan into abyss

When South Sudan principals Salva Kiir and Riek Machar inked a peace deal in 2018, it signalled renewed hope for a battered country.

But there was a problem. The 2018 peace deal, formally known as the Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS), mentions Salva Kiir and Riek Machar by name.
