As Tanzania strives to move on from its most traumatic general election in its 64 years of independence, the newly elected National Assembly is scheduled to hold its inaugural session in Dodoma on November 11, with a State of the Union address by President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec) was still compiling the full results of the parliamentary polls by Thursday but, according to piecemeal results from the constituencies, the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) is assured of at least 95 percent of the seats in the House.
