A salute to Mengi, who gave freely to the causes dear to him; he was good people

Though he had been visibly weakened and slowed by a mild stroke he had suffered less than a year ago, when Dar es Salaam-based businessman and philanthropist, Reginald Abraham Mengi died in Dubai this past week, his death was a shocking surprise to many.

The signs of the stroke were there alright, alongside the realisation in many people’s minds that not many people tend to survive such an affliction, but it was still as if people expected him to continue living regardless.
