A Kenyan businessman who was abducted by unknown people eight days ago in Tanzania's commercial capital Dar es Salaam has been found alive.

Raphael Ongangi was found Tuesday in the coastal Kenyan city of Mombasa, his wife Veronica Kundya confirmed.

Ms Kundya said she had spoken to her husband and thanked everyone who took part in finding him.

“I am in a hurry and I cannot say much now,” Ms Kundya told The Citizen.

“But I thank God and each and everyone out for playing a role, in one way or the other, in accomplishing this,” added Ms Kundya.

Mr Ongangi, who runs a cargo logistics business, was kidnapped was kidnapped on June 24 at about 9:30pm at the intersection of Karume-Msasani Road in Dar es Salaam's affluent neighbourhood of Oyster Bay.
