Some 40 baby gorillas will be named this weekend in Rwanda, during the 2025 Kwita Izina naming ceremony.
This year also marks the 20th anniversary of the event, with at least 400 gorillas having been born during this time. This has increased Rwanda’s gorilla population from 880 in 2012 to 1,063 today.
