Egypt’s withdrawal from negotiations with Ethiopia over the use of the Nile River is expected to further escalate tensions and deepen the already strained diplomatic relations between the two.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, during an interview with BBC Africa, insisted that the Grand Renaissance Dam (Gerd) built by Ethiopia on the Nile is an illegal project that endangers neighbouring countries.
