US, Europe push stricter migration with African partners

The US and European governments are separately adjusting their security postures, dispersing obligations among African partners to help control the flow of migrants and neutralise threats to their economies.

These steps have emerged over the past year, even as officials insist they will continue focusing on traditional issues such as countering the growing influence of China and Russia on the continent.
