President Yoweri Museveni has urged the youth to politically support infrastructure development as this directly affects the profitability of sectors such as commercial agriculture and industrialisation which are the most productive sectors for incomes and job creation.

The President said there are five employment sectors that the youth can exploit including commercial agriculture, factories, services, ICT and the public service.

“You should get involved in productive sectors such as agriculture for wealth creation through big or small enterprises such as maize mills, weaving, textiles, services such as hotels and shops, motor cycles (boda bodas) and ICT,” he said.

The President was on Wednesday addressing a group of NRM youth chairpersons from Central Region at a meeting held at State House Entebbe.

He called on them to support government efforts to promote industrialisation and also engage in commercial agriculture instead of fighting to expand the bureaucracy of the civil service.

He further urged the youth to work for the prosperity and security of their country and warned against the sectarianism in any form.

The Central Region Youth MP Patrick Nakabale who led the delegation commended the president for making time to meet with them and said the youth are committed to supporting government programmes in as far as wealth creation and industrialisation goes for the benefit of all Ugandans.
