Gen Muhoozi deletes tweets threatening US embassy, apologises
Muhoozi Kainerugaba of the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF), the son of Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni, who leads the Ugandan army's land forces, looks on during his birthday party in Entebbe, Uganda May 7, 2022.
President Yoweri Museveni's son, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who is Uganda's military chief, on Thursday night stirred more debate on social media after he posted a photo showing the "capture" of the wife of his father's political opponent, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, in a recent military raid at her house.
“This is when our soldiers captured and then released Kabobi's wife, Barbie. She was very helpful in helping us find her husband,” reads Gen Muhoozi’s caption on the photo in one of the series of posts on X hours after the Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja, told NTV Uganda on Thursday evening that no one had stopped Mr Kyagulanyi, who's currently in hiding.
