When Victor Wanyama donned the shirt of his new club Southampton FC on August 17 for the game against West Bromich Albion, he made Kenya the 100th country to have a player in the English Premier League.
But, while this was an important milestone in Kenyan football history, it remains a fact that Wanyama is the only footballer from East Africa to play in the world’s most popular and richest league.
