Every year, for the past decade, thousands of revellers from across the globe flock to the source of River Nile in Jinja, Uganda, to party. From South Africa to Europe and America, artistes, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts arrive in the country for the now international entertainment extravaganza, Nyege Nyege Festival.
Nyege Nyege, mooted in 2015, has succeeded in positioning Jinja as a key destination for cultural and adventure tourism. Attendees engage in activities ranging from boat rides to adventure sports and cultural tours.
