For the second time in its 10 years in the Tanzanian market, American ride-hailing firm Uber exited the country, this time amidst a geopolitical tension between Dar es Salaam and Washington over business restrictive policies.

Uber ended its services in Tanzania on January 30, blaming it on a difficult regulatory environment that have rendered its business model impossible to run in the country, forcing it to shut down operations once again.
