Japan seeks to grow investments in Africa amid China’s influence

Japan is seeking to grow its investments in Africa to ease reliance on China, even as it raises the stakes against Beijing.

A Japanese trade official revealed during the Kenya Business Week at the Japan 2025 Expo in Osaka that Tokyo is supporting companies to expand their businesses in Africa and strengthen trade ties across a continent where it has traditionally been viewed as a key donor.
