EAC, Comesa competition watchdogs review Vivo Energy acquisition plan
Dubai-headquartered Mount Meru Petroleum Group Ltd is seeking to acquire Vivo Energy Rouge Holdings from its parent company, Vivo Energy Overseas Holdings Ltd.
Regional competition watchdogs are reviewing the proposed acquisition of Vivo Energy Rouge Holdings and its subsidiaries by Mount Meru Petroleum Group Ltd, as the Dubai-headquartered group seeks to expand its footprint in the regional petroleum market.
The proposed transaction has attracted scrutiny from both the Comesa Competition and Consumer Commission (CCCC) and the East African Community Competition Authority, which have issued separate notices inviting stakeholders and the public to make presentations on the deal.
