Gaddafi assets to be unblocked to aid Libyan people

Muammar Gaddafi's regime assets blocked in the United States will be used "to help the Libyan people", US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said at a meeting of the International Contact Group Thursday.
The US will examine laws "that would enable the US to tap some portion of those assets owned by Gaddafi and the Libyan government in the United States, so we can make those funds available to the Libyan people," she said.
Around 30 billion dollars (20 billion euros) in Libyan assets have been frozen in the US.
