Heineken presents the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour to Kenya, Tanzania

Heineken on Monday announced plans for the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour 2012 presented by Heineken in East Africa. This is the sixth UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour presented by Heineken but the first ever truly global one.

International premium beer brand Heineken on Monday announced plans for the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour 2012 presented by Heineken in East Africa.

Heineken has been associated with the UEFA Champions League since the 2005/06 season and has promised to remain one of the principal sponsors of the tournament through to 2014/15.

This is the sixth UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour presented by Heineken but the first ever truly global one.

The UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour presented by Heineken visited Asia in 2011, North America in 2010, Africa in 2009, South America in 2008 and Asia in 2007.

Prior to arriving in Kenya, Heineken presented the Trophy to Mexico City before moving to Guadalajara in Mexico.

The UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour presented by Heineken presented by Heineken will start its East African journey travelling via Dar-es-Salaam to Mombasa and then Nairobi.

Afterwards, it will proceed to Shanghai, China.

During this period, consumers who purchase Heineken will be rewarded with tickets to visit the exclusive events where they will take photos of the legendary Trophy as well as have the opportunity to live football experiences through the different activities that Heineken will be presenting.

Accompanying the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour 2012 to Nairobi will be two legendary Heineken and UEFA ambassadors -Former Dutch legend Ruud Gullit and Chelsea legend Celestine Babayaro, who will be travelling with the Trophy once they leave the region again.

Commenting on the Trophy Tour, David Taylor, UEFA Events S.A. CEO, said the UEFA Champions League has a long and distinguished heritage and is the pinnacle of European club football.
