The world is shifting, and Africa is at a turning point. The international system—where Western powers set the rules and Africa played along—is disintegrating. China, Russia, India, Brazil and Türkiye are carving out bigger roles for themselves, while long-standing alliances are weakening. The global landscape is becoming more competitive, more unpredictable, and Africa can’t afford to simply take a passive role.
Africa has the highest resource potential, a substantial proportion of young people, and the strategic leverage to be a major player. However, this won’t happen on its own.
