As global attention fixates on the escalating tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran, one of Africa’s most devastating conflicts risks slipping farther into the shadows, the war in Sudan has entered its fourth year, grinding on with little prospect of resolution while civilians bear the brunt of a deepening humanitarian catastrophe.
The scale is staggering. More than 150,000 people have been killed, some 14 million displaced, and roughly two-thirds of the population now requires urgent humanitarian assistance. Yet even as these numbers worsen, diplomatic efforts remain fragmented and largely ineffective.
