Imperial power will be imperial powers, whatever the rhetoric they choose to dress their actions in, and I must admit sometimes they could sound like they are serious about what they choose to be their excuse for the moment.
I mean seriously, like when I was a kid and some of our teachers were Americans of the Old Peace Corps variety, some of us poor little devils swallowed nearly all the hogwash rammed down our throats by our teachers, most of them deliberately sent to peddle a stream of propaganda designed to make us believe that what they represented was the best of all possible worlds.
