Russia unveils $53m military support package for Uganda
The support, unveiled during a two-day engagement between President Museveni and a Russian delegation led by Lt Gen Aleksandr Kshimovskii on October 21 and 22, includes a mechanised major repair facility in Magamaga, Jinja District, marine operational equipment in Entebbe and digital military training infrastructure at Kalama in Mubende District.
Russia has expanded its defence partnership with Uganda through a $53 million package of military equipment and infrastructure, as Moscow seeks to deepen security ties across Africa while governments on the continent diversify their sources of defence technology and support.
