Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reshuffled the military’s top command for the second time this year, amid an intensifying power struggle with his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga, who helped him rise to power through a coup eight years ago.
The 83‑year‑old ruler retired Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) Commander Phillip Valerio Sibanda and replaced him with Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) Commander General Emmanuel Matatu.
