Ecobank’s $2bn plan for Africa’s women-led enterprises

Pan-African lender Ecobank Group has planned to lend women-owned businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa $2 billion in the next three years, underscoring growing access to credit by women on the continent.
Ecobank, with operations in 34 African countries – including Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Uganda, and Burundi – is eyeing a customer base of 400,000 women-owned enterprises.
