US and European nations pressure Rwanda to defuse M23 rebellion

Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and the United States are among the Western countries exerting pressure on Rwanda in a concerted effort to stop the ongoing conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
They have imposed sanctions on key officials of the rebel group M23, as well as on Rwandan government officials, summoned Rwandan envoys in their capitals, or threatened to withdraw aid to Rwanda.
