Rwanda has responded to the UK government summons of its envoy by asking London to “avoid emboldening the DRC's position to seek a military-only solution” and instead work with African regional blocs to find a solution to the ongoing war in Congo.
“The UK should align with and support the AU-backed EAC/SADC peace process,” reads a statement released by the Rwanda High Commission in the UK, after the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) summoned High Commissioner Johnston Busingye, “following advances made by the Rwandan Defence Force and M23 in eastern DRC.”
