The Tanzanian government has stepped up shuttle diplomacy to mitigate damage to its international image after recent post-election chaos, which has left the Samia administration facing possible sanctions and cuts to development aid.
The recent strategy shift, from denying accusations of rights abuses to actively engaging with foreign partners, has seen Foreign and East African Community Cooperation Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo shuttle between Dodoma and Western capitals to troubleshoot.
