Tanzania's ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) on Wednesday endorsed Energy Minister Deogratius Ndejembi as its nominee for Vice-President, setting the stage for him to succeed Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, who has since been expelled from the party days after resigning.
The decision was reached during an emergency meeting of the CCM Central Committee in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, following Dr Nchimbi's announcement that he was stepping down and retiring from politics and public service.
