Protest anniversary: Ruto’s bid to win back Gen-Zs

If there is one thing that causes the administration of Kenyan President William Ruto nightmares, it is the Gen Z movement.

The movement, which characterises itself as “leaderless” and “tribeless” and mostly uses digital platforms to mobilise anti-government sentiment, was behind last year’s youth-led uprising in the country that saw anti-tax protesters invade parliament and threaten to march to State House.
