Donald Trump has won back the power to pursue his plan to deport hundreds of Somali refugees after a US court lifted an order that had kept temporary protection for them in place.
The ruling allows his administration to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Somalia from August 14, 2026, removing a key safeguard for Somalis in the US who had been protected from deportation because of unsafe conditions in their home country.
