Divorce cases surge in Rwanda as courts receive 20 petitions a day

Rwanda’s courts are facing a sharp rise in marital disputes, with an average of 20 divorce petitions being received daily in the first half of this year, according to figures presented by the Ministry of Justice.

Over the six-month period, more than 3,600 divorce cases were filed, highlighting the mounting pressure on families, courts, and children caught in disputes between separating parents.
