Amnesty International has accused Ugandan security forces of killing at least 16 people, arbitrarily detaining hundreds and torturing opposition supporters during and after January’s general elections, with no officer held accountable three months on.
The rights watchdog urged President Yoweri Museveni’s government to investigate election-related killings, arbitrary arrests and torture of opposition members and supporters, in its latest report released on Thursday. Uganda has not responded to the allegations.
