Tsega Gebreyes is prominent in Africa’s financial sector owing to her instrumental role in attracting capital for investments in Africa.

She is the founding partner and CEO of Satya Capital Ltd, a private investment firm specialising in Africa-related investment. The company focuses on financial services, energy and natural resources, with an investment target of $20 million or above.

Through her leadership, the company has helped businesses around the continent improve their competitive standing.

As a former chief of strategy and business development officer at Celtel International (now Airtel), Dr Gabreyes played an instrumental role in the growth of the business through multi-country expansion across the continent. She led the merger-and-acquisition process that culminated in the sale of the company for $3.4 billion. This transaction is one of the largest corporate deals ever involving a company operating in Sub-Saharan Africa.
