A Tanzanian-made film that highlights mental health and friendship is set to premier early next year.
Featuring Tanzania’s iconic tourist destinations of Serengeti and Ngorongoro, Mulasi the Death tells the story of four friends trying to cope with life’s challenges.
To help one of them cope with depression, the friends organise a fun-filled trip and travel from Dodoma to Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater.
The film features Tanzanian traditions and cultures from various tribes in the country, a key message on the role of culture for the country’s younger generation.
Mulasi, meaning ‘friend’, comes from Gogo tribe in Tanzania’s Capital city, Dodoma.
Mulasi the Death features actors from Ghana, Tanzania and United States. It is directed by Honeymoon Aljabri, a Tanzanian writer, actor and award winning film producer based in the US; and features Ghanian actor John Dumelo among the lead characters.
