JULIANA ROTICH (KENYA)
Juliana Rotich is a co-founder of the Ushahidi platform, a site that crowd-sources information about crisis areas, collating it into live maps online. It was set up in Kenya to map incidents of violence during the 2007-2008 post-election crisis. She is now a prolific blogger (Afromusing) who focuses on African technology and renewable energy, a frequent public speaker and senior fellow at Technology, Entertainment, Design (TED).
