Few men in East Africa’s entertainment landscape carry as much weight as Daniel Ndambuki. Known simply as ‘Churchill’, the 48-year-old pioneer has spent more than two decades etching his legacy into the bedrock of Kenyan comedy. Yet beneath the spotlight lies a man who describes himself as “very boring”, an introvert who found his calling by accident and helped a nation find its laugh.
Three months ago, Churchill quietly marked another year around the sun. After more than two decades in the comedy business, he says he often reflects on a fork in the road he never took.
