Tanzania has been on the news this week for trying to upend the regional commerce order with a domestic policy that is seen to run counter to the protocols of the East African Community (EAC), undermining regional integration.
It all began on July 28, when the Trade ministry in Dodoma released a Special Supplement banning foreigners from engaging in “small” businesses in the country, targeting at least 15 segments.
