Uganda’s Central Bank staff get the best pay in the region despite them overseeing a smaller sector than their peers in Kenya and Tanzania.
Financial disclosures by the regional banking sector regulators show that the Bank of Uganda (BoU) paid $66.9 million in salaries, wages and allowances to its 999 employees.
